CM Wealth Announces New CEO in Strategic Succession
CM Wealth, an independent multi-family office with more than $2.1 billion in assets under management, announced this month that Paul Bodnar has been named chief executive officer and managing member. Bodnar succeeds R. Douglas McCreery, who served as CEO for the past five years.
The appointment is the next step in a decade-long succession plan to preserve the firm’s employee-owned status and continue its 40-year history of concierge care for client families.
“Ten years ago, we began designing a path for CM Wealth to thrive as an enduring, partner-owned institution,” McCreery said. “Paul has spent the last decade driving our strategic evolution and embodies the culture of discipline our clients expect. Now is the time to pass the baton to a leader who has the vision to guide this firm for the next generation.”
Team-Driven and Client-Focused
The leadership transition comes during a period of significant consolidation within the wealth management industry. While many multi-family offices have opted for external acquisitions or private equity backing, CM Wealth has remained committed to its autonomy and its team.
“By remaining employee-owned, we can ignore pressures of outside shareholders and focus entirely on the multi-generational objectives of our client families,” Bodnar said. “I am honored to lead a firm that balances high-touch service, institutional-grade investment capabilities and personalized solutions for our clients.”
A Decade of Intentional Growth
In the time since Paul Bodnar joined CM Wealth in 2015, the firm has modernized its investment philosophy, specifically through the expansion of its private capital and direct investment platforms. This evolution has allowed client families to access institutional-grade opportunities while maintaining the high-touch, boutique service model that has defined the firm since 1983.
Executive Leadership
Before joining CM Wealth, Bodnar was a vice president at a sell-side equity research firm, where his work earned awards from The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times. A commentator on market trends, he has appeared on CNBC and Bloomberg.
In addition to his focus on CM Wealth, Bodnar serves on the board of the MetroHealth Foundation, chairs the investment committee for the Sisters of Humility of Mary and is a member of the advancement council for the Cleveland Ballet. He earned a Bachelor of Science in management with a finance concentration from Case Western Reserve University. He resides in Chagrin Falls with his wife, Evelin, and daughter, Cora.
